Importance of Detoxification for Health & Healing

First let's look at what the difference between a Cleanse and Detox is.

Cleanse: Is generally thought of as a Process of Increased Bowel Movement or Colon Cleanse.

The large Intestine (or colon) is a major organ of elimination therefore the body will greatly benefit from increased colon cleansing. 

Detoxification: Does include colon cleansing but is a much more in depth process that the body performs to rid itself of toxins and impurities. Detoxification is a natural process of the body which involves the 7 Detox Pathways:

* BLOOD * LIVER * COLON * KIDNEYS * LUNGS * LIVER * LYMPH * SKIN *

These Elimination Channels can become stagnant due to environmental toxins, poor diet, and poor lifestyle choices. Doing an Internal cleanse (detox program) can greatly improve the ability of the body to detoxify itself of impurities. This will usually include an herbal cleansing product as well as diet modifications and things like forced sweating with sauna. 

From the beginning of recorded history people have done fasting, colonics and saunas as a form of cleansing. All cultures have used herbs to purify the blood, get the colon moving and remove toxins from the body.

What are tie 2 types of toxins:

Internal Toxins: Those produced from within our body, as digestive toxins produced from the metabolic break down of our foods.

External Toxins: Those generated outside the body and enter it from the environment ie: air, water or food.

    • always drink purified water
    • eat organic food whenever possible
    • eat lots of dark green leafy vegetables
    • exercise regularly - use a rebounder to keep lymph moving
    • avoid processed and fast foods
    • use a infrared sauna regularly
    • use natural home and personal care products
    • avoid cooking with aluminum, copper and teflon coated pans/dishes
    • perform cleansing and detoxification programs on a regular basis

Common Symptoms of “Withdrawal” from a Toxic Lifestyle

The following symptoms are very common at the beginning of the program and should dissipate within the first few days of your program. Don’t worry, these symptoms are indicative that your body is eliminating toxins and are a good sign!
  • Bad breath
  • Constipation
  • Achy, flu-like feeling
  • Fatigue
  • Headaches
  • Hunger
  • Irritability

First, eliminating food allergies and un-junking the diet causes reactions similar to withdrawal from other addictive substances like caffeine, alcohol, nicotine, cocaine or heroin.
